Hello Crafty Peeps!
I really hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in this world of uncertain changes and instability.
One thing that continues to bring me peace and joy, outside of God, is the ability to use my hands to create beautiful things! Through this blog I confidently believe that these feelings will pass on and bring you peace and joy as well, as you read and even try your hand at something crafty.
So, let's just jump right into the business of card making. A few weeks back I decided to dive back into my love of card making, so I signed up to take part in an educator program for card makers to enhance my skills and acclimate myself with the new trends in card making. Things have really changed since I made my first card many, many moons ago. π I am the type of person who is always looking for ways of self-enrichment. So, as a birthday gift to myself this year, I decided to take classes and delve back into the card making world and increase my knowledge and skills.
This is the card I submitted as a sample to show off my artistry. I think I did pretty good, right? Of course you agree! You're too kind to tell me if you didn't. πππ
For the background I used washi tape and for the flowers, I used the matching dies to cut them out making it a 3-D card. I added enamel dots for the flower centers and added a sentiment flag to the left and an enamel dot for a bit of color. I really think it turned out cute!
So on to my homework, I finally finished Lesson One's card. Pretty good don't you think? Again, of course you do! πIn this card design, I used the layering technique. The butterflies were stamped with layering/coordinating inks and the flower, I colored using alcohol markers. Then I added sequins for texture and a pop of color for a little something extra.
Well, this about wraps it up for my blog post today. I hope I have inspired you to either start making your own greeting cards or if you are a card maker and haven't made a card in a while, I hope this post puts a fire in you that makes you want to jump back into the card making game!
